Not on the desktop, (unless you find a third party application). But
in the notification area of the Quicklaunch Toolbar, yes. Right click
on the notification area>Properties>Customize>Find the icon and
change the behavior to Always show.

it depends on the mail client you used.
and what's the exact meaning of show?
just appear for a while?
or stay there until you check it.

Hi,

You can accomplish it, if you are using Outlook 2003.

1. Open Outlook 2003
2. The Outlook 2003 displays an icon on the system tray when opened.
3. Right click the icon and select "Show new mail desktop alert"
4. Also select "Hide when minimized" so that the Outlook program is not on
the Taskbar and stays in the System Tray.

Kindly post me the program you're using to fetch e-mails. I provide the
workaround.

Hope this helps.... :)
