I have a problem with my CD/R/RW combo...
When I turn on my computer, system recognize CD (as a
primary slave) and HDD (as a master). Until now everything
is OK.
But when win2000 server (OS thar I use) pops up, in the
time I put any data CD on CD-ROM this message appear:
E:/ is not accesible, please insert a disc into drive...

thank you in advance...

Funny you should post a vague BSOD message only 13 minutes ago. Do you
suppose the 2 might be related?

I have a similar problem that is baffling me. I tried
installing a LG CD-RW/DVD-Rom on a computer that already
had a LG CD-Rom and now even though the computer
recognizes the device, I still get the "D:/ is not
accessible" error.

I tried removing the CD-RW drive but still had the same
error.

In disk management the CD-Rom shows "online" but you
don't see the volume up on top, even though I have a CD
in it, you can't see it.

I think I screwed up some IDE / EIDE thing but don't know
how to put it back the way it was.

I tried re-installing win2000 but that didn't help.

I know this couldn't have happen to just us two. Someone
out there must have a solution.

Thanks for the input, but I don't think this pertains to my situation
I don't use Norton, I use Panda Anti-Virus and I have not installed any software to burn CDs yet
Maybe it has something to do with changing the position of the drives on the cable before installing them.
Maybe I should have uninstalled the cdrom drive before installing the cdrw/dvd-rom drive and letting
windows find both drives as new devices

Anyways, I still looking for a solution

Yes, removing the hardware from Device Manager BEFORE physically
switching the hardware out is the recommended sequence.
