E Drive will not Close

I try to shut the E Drive and it tries to read something but then opens and
stays open. The Computer has been off all night, did a scan with sophis,
nothing found. Any suggestions?

What is the "E Drive", a CD/DVD drive? If this is the case, then here
are some steps to try (do one thing at a time and testing after each
change):

1. With the computer off and unplugged, open the case and reseat the
ribbon cable going from the drive to the motherboard. Also reseat the
power supply connector going to the drive.

2. Swap out the ribbon cable for a known-working one.

3. Swap out the drive for a known-working one. If you have no problems
with that drive, replace the original drive and throw it out.

4. If you have problems with the second drive, your power supply may be
going. Swap out with a known-working one.

If this seems like something you don't want to do (and there is no shame
in admitting this), take the machine to a professional computer repair
shop (not your local equivalent of BigStoreUSA).
