I am using Nero Smart Start 6 and Win XP. All of a sudden, when I put in the
CDRW, Nero does not come up. If I double-click & bring it up, I add files to
CDRW, then when I tell it to BURN, the drawer comes out and a msg on screen
says, "Insert disc." I tried reading the CDRW in Win 98 and I can see all the
files already written. I tried updating Nero 6 and it tells me I need a
"dedicated plugin" I don't know what that is or where to get one. HELP!

How old is the disc drive?

Did you try updating the drive's firmware?

I think this is normal, just close the drawer and it should finish the cdrw,
or the cdrw is full and you need a new cdrw

I believe Smart Start is just a front panel that starts the main Nero
burning utility.

Your post suggests to me that you have some files already on the CD-RW and
that you are trying to add more in a second session. Unfortunately Nero
products only support this action if you have saved the project from the
first burn. You have to load the project for the disc you are trying to add
files to before Nero will allow you to do it. If you do not have the
project file, then you cannot add files and Nero will ask you to insert a
(blank) disc.

Nearly every other burning utility has the ability to import previous
sessions from the disc.
