Do any of you use an outside program within fp(I'm using 2003) to have an
automatic classified section? I'd like to have not only classifieds, but
maybe an auction page as well within my website - could you give me pros and
cons - does fp have an addin for this or do I have to buy an outside
rogram - if outside, is there one that works better than others with FP?

thanks for your help

Pam

Well you would need a server side language (ASP, .NET, PHP) to communicate
with a database (MSSQL, MS Access, mysql). Frontpage will help you edit the
code but as far as building one, it won't be too useful.

If you are on a Windows server, I would suggest ASP / .NET. If you are on a
*NIX box, PHP would probably be better. Hotscripts would have a few scripts
for you to review

I would like to know if you are able to do it with fp 2003 or witj whatever
you'll use. But remember that the fp2003 is already dropped from MS, instead
of updating it...What a waste of time and resources for fp users--MS only
cares about how to make more $$$

Yes, you can do it with FP, as long as your get a pre-written 3rd Party application that is
supported by your web host or if you are hosted on a Windows IIS web server, then you can custom
write it in FP using ASP/VBScript or ASP.net.
