Dynamic update and wins

Can dynamic update be used to find computer on network like using UNC
command or in network neighbourhood ? Under what circumstances then we
can see the benefits of dynamic update apart from name resolution ?

I'm not sure what you mean by dynamic update. DNS in AD, and WINS, are both
dynamic. Can you rephrase your question with a lot more detail?
 
Lanwench, what i meant is DDNS without AD. WINS is used for netbios
name resolution and reduce broadcasting. So what will DDNS achieve
besides it is used for host name resolution ? will it also reduce
broadcasting in Win2000 ?
