Mike

I have an ADSL connection and want to set up my server so
that clients can access TS from home.

I don't mind reconfiguring the system as the IP address
changes, but how do I set up the IP in the first place ?.
i.e. I don't know the subnet mask for the current IP
(issued by the ISP), etc.

How can this be done ?.

Thanx

you just configure the computer your clients wanna
connected from hom as treminal server ( control
panel>add/remove program> add remove window componets>
terminal services )

check the ip address of the terminal server by
ipconfig/all in command prompt.

than the terminal clients can connect to terminal server
using that ip address.

no need to re configure terminal server if ever ip address
changed, just find out the new ip address and inform
terminal clients to connect to to new ip address.

if your terminal server is connected to router, tha you
must set it as dmz.

You might want to check out no-ip.com. They have some
software you can use for free to give you computer a
static DNS name that will automatically adjust to your
dynamic ADSL ip address.
