I converted a hard drive i just bought to dynamic, but
know i want to copy my old hard drive to my new one, i
bought Drive Copy 4.0 to do the job, but it does not
support dynamic drives. I have tried to change it back to
basic but i can't, i deleted all the volumes but it does
not give me the option to change back to basic, and when
i look at the properties is still dynamic! How can i
change it back to a simple drive. Please HELP!!!

The disk must be empty before you can change it back to a basic disk.
If you want to keep your data, back it up to a CD.

The Windows XP CD is bootable and contains all the tools necessary
to partition and format your drive. Follow this procedure and allow
Windows XP to partition and format your drive:

1. Open your BIOS and set your CD Drive as the first bootable device.
2. Insert your Windows XP CD in the CD Drive and reboot your computer.
3. You'll see a message to boot to the CD....follow the instructions.
4. The setup menu will appear and you should elect to delete the existing
Windows partitions, then create a new partition, then format the primary
partition (preferably NTFS) and proceed to install Windows XP.

5. Clean Install Windows XP

try diskpatch demo - if it still detects your basic partitions, chances are
good (but not guaranteed!) you can recover them with the full version.

many people have already recovered their partitions in situations very
similar to yours.
