If you can not even see how much memory you have using dxdiag, it is likely that other programs will be unable to determine this either. You could be experiencing a problem with your motherboard, your RAM, or your OS. Additionally, you may have installed something that is causing this problem. I would reccommend a reformat and fresh install of windowsXP. Before installing any additional software on your new xp install, run dxdiag again and then see if it tells you how much memory you have. If you still have this problem after a reinstall of windows, it is likely that you need to change either the RAM, the motherboard, or both. Since parts are so cheap now, I suggest you get a new motherboard (aopen is a great choice) and new RAM and a CPU specifically for that motherboard (512 at least). Barring that, you might be better off getting an xbox for 179 and then buying the GTA double pack. I have the game both on PC and XBOX and I like the version better on the XBOX (which is basically an enhanced port of the PC version) I would estimate that it would cost you around 300 to get a very good motherboard and CPU with new RAM. This price could range between 200 and 400 depending on the quality, speed and features of the hardware. A new XBOX and both GTA games would cost you 229 dollars and you would probably enjoy the game more. You would likely fins both used for even less. You do the math, you make the decision.
