DWT Problem

I am working with a DWT that has approximately 2200 pages attached to it. The
problem I am having is that every time I want to save a change to the
template an error message comes up sayng "Front Page has encountered a
problem and must shut down." This also happens when I try to update all of
the pages that are attached to the template. I have checked office updates to
see if there was a fix for this but did not find any. Also, I did try the
detect and repair which did not help. I may try the update 50 times a day and
it may work once. Any ideas?

I could only guess, but perhaps 2200 pages using 1 template is a bit much
for FP to handle?

Alternatively, have you tried emptying your frontpage temp & "*.web"
files/folder?

Use FPCleaner, from www.95isalive.com - and see if this helps.

Where are you working (on a server based or disc based site)
Automatic update of DWTs is currently only supported in Disc Based Webs or under WSS (not on a server running the FP SE)
- If running on Windows 2003 Server under the FP SE, there is a hot fix your host could install to support Automatic updates of
DWTs - see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;895193
