Since installing the dvi cable, some the monitor a compaq 2025, will fricker
off for a second, them back on.
In some games, it flickers off then back on but flickers back and forth so
frequently that I cant even exit the game, and have to reboot.

Does anyone know what is causing this, I would like to try to resolve it
before breaking down and going back to analog VGA cable.

regards

Forgot to mention it is connected to a Radion 9700 pro, currently using 4.9,
but has experienced the problem with 4.7 and lower drivers.
I also have a NEC LCD on my 9500, wich had experienced the same sort of
thing, but stoped, and I never figured out why.

I am getting this, too. With 4.9, XPSP2, X800 Pro, ViewSonic VP201mb LCD
monitor. However, I've also seen this at work, with VGA video AND on NVidia
cards. Maybe...it's Windows.

The screen just goes black for a second or so, at home the "input" message
pops up on the screen (like the video input is missing), then, the picture
returns.

Don't have to be doing anything for this to happen.
