I bought a DVD-R/-RW and installed it. I can play and burn
CDs but can't play DVDs. Is Windows XP Home capable of
playing and burning DVDs or do I need to buy something
else to make it work? Could someone help me please.
Thank you for your time.

You need DVD software in order to play a DVD.... this nearly always comes
with the DVD drive... either PowerDVD or WinDVD...... if you don't have
either, you don't have the correct codecs installed .... you can purchase
just the codecs...
