I recently made a movie on movie maker. I burned DVD-R's for members of my
family. I played the DVD-R's on my sony player to make sure they played. No
problems at all. HOWEVER, my family members are having problems on the
players. Some won't play at all (they checked their compatibility and some
say:
plays DVD or R, doesn't indicate - or +) What does that mean then? What
type of DVD do I use to burn so that they can play? Does the REGION have
anything to do with it? There's says REgion 1.
Another issue, family member can play the DVD, but it then gets 'stuck' or
has problems with music and transitions. (again, played perfectly on my DVD
player)
MY GOAL, is to try to re-do the DVD's correctly so that they can play them.
Please let me know what I should do in both cases. I REALLY appreciate your
help!

Unfortunately that's a hard question to answer.
Some DVD's will work on some players but not on other's. "Usually" switching
from -R to +R (if your DVD burner supports them both as some don't) may and
usually does solve the problem. But to verify that the problem is definitely
not their particular disk have them take it to an electronics store. The
sales people there are usually more than willing to let you try your disk in
their display DVD players.
