Hi all,

Now that I have a DVD Rw+/- I find I have a lot of questions.

DO I replace my CDRW or DVD drive .. I don't have room for both.

When would one use a "+" and when would one use a "-" .... which would be better for data backup.

Any info would be appreciated.

Happy Holidays

Personally, i'd keep a reader, for reading CD (/DVDs)s. Makes copying
CDs and DVD-ROMs easier/quicker.

Depends on what the discs will be played on really, in if the reader
reads one format or the other better. Use whatever format for backup
of your personal data, as you will likely be reading it on the same
drive.

I thought long and hard about the same thing. I decided to keep my CD
burner because the DVD burner burns CD's too slow.

My DVD drive doesn't rip DVD's any faster than my DVD burner and copying
DVD's should be done using the hard drive as a buffer, anyway, for best
results.

So it came down to CD recording speed. 16x is just too slow, so I kept
my CD burner.
