DVDRip.MP4 file - how to get MP4 player to read?

Hi i have a Sony Walkman NWZ-S618F and i'm trying to download an MP4 file to view. The format is DVDRip.MP4.
You can click and drag files to the Walkman but this file won't play when i do so. Is there something i can use to convert it to ... whatever? for use on the walkman?

any advice much appreciated

PS: do you know of any good sites where i can download movie clips/short movies? for free?

"DVDRip" is the name of a file, it could say anything there. ".MP4" is the file type.
