Windows XP has no native DVD writing capability.

You'll need a third party burning. I personally use Nero (probably the most
popular) with good results.

A free package called deepburner is available at;

Buy a copy of Roxio or Nero. Personally, I prefer Roxio, versions 6 &
7, with the updates applied, are both quite good. Although both Roxio
and Nero their respective version 5's supposedly did DVD's, I had a lot
of trouble with both of them. But not with the later versions of either
product.

My question: If you have a Sony DVD writer installed, didn't your PC come
with a DVD writing application? The application should be on the installation
disk.
