Hi there.

I went to a friends today to help them backup some software to DVD+RW. They
had a drive that claimed to support the DVD+RW format. Now I was under the
impression that DVD writing was natively supported by XP, but it would seem
this is not that case. However I would also expected the Laptop to come with
some software that enabled the dragging and dropping of files onto DVD, but
it just never worked. That had this flashy Sonic software installed but it
looked all flashy with no substance.

So I am not sure what to to. Do I buy software like Nero and will this
install the feature to allow dragging of files onto a RW DVD like it is part
of the file system. (also I believe it comes with some decent backup
software).

IS the "In-CD" part that makes it do what I want. I tried to download a
trial from Nero's website but had a nightmare. any input welcome

Kind regards

Dave

Either Nero InCD or Roxio Drag-To-Disk will give you the packet writing
capabilities that you need to drag files to the DVD for burning (just like a
hard drive).
