I have a tower that has two CD drives one is a regular
drive for installing software etc; and the other one is a
CD-RW drive. My question is this I want to install a
DVD Writer in place of one of the drives. Which one do I
replace? I'm thinking it's the CD-RW drive but I'm not
sure. I don't have the space to add a third drive so one
of them has to go!

Thank you for you time,

Dennis

You can replace either one, unless your CDRW does not
accept CD Roms, which is highly unlikely. I would replace
the regular CD drive.

OK, thanks.........

I was in the same situation a short time ago and wound up
replacing the CD-RW device, since, with the CD-RW device
installed, the install sw for the DVD/CD-RW refused to
install its burner software (and vice-versa), so I just
kept the CD reader and now use the DVD/CD-RW for writing
to either type of media. fyi: the DVD/CD-RW device was
an HP DVD Writer dvd300i
