I just want to know whether Windows 2000 server support USB External DVD
Writer?

It's probably not the drive that won't work in 2K Server, it's probably the
Veritas recording software. Nero and many other programs burn CD/DVD
perfectly well in Win2K Server, even to an external drive.

DVD burners will work in Windows 2000 but you'll also need CD/DVD
burning software that supports it.

That would depend on the model of DVD Writer, but most CD authoring
software such as Roxio, Nero etc support most current DVD drives are
constantly being updated to add support for new models.

If you buy a retail packaged drive it will probably come with an OEM
version of one of the above packages.
