I burned my first MM DVD w/ Power Point pic with backgrounds and no
transitions. I changed it to JPEG and attached music and home movie clips. I
saved the movie file as DV-AVI(NTSC). I burned on a DVD+R and DVD-R both 16x
speed. I used Nero7 to burn and chose the highest quality. I also tried
having it choose auto. I have burned 3 DVD's. They were all perfect before
burning. They are perfect played on DVD players on our XP laptops. They play
great on a DVD player on TV and PS2 until around the 90th slide then the
music warps in mid song and the slide stalls. After a few more slides it
plays fine again and then it warps and stalls again then plays again fine
through the movie clips. On PS2 it does all the above with the exception of
the music stops and starts. I'm brain fried!!

It may be worth a try to burn at a slower speed.

Also, you may have some incompatibility issues
with your source files. Have a look at the following

I don't know anything about speeds. My Nero Drive Speed was set as: Read
speed 16x for DVD and spin down time 2min. My disc is 16x also. What one
should I change?

I checked my images. All photos were JPEG and everything else Aka
backgrounds were Bitmap. My pictures don't stop, they stall and they play
again. The disks do this on various spots. The first half of the DvD is
fine. I didn't see anything else on tinyurl.com that may apply. What should I
be looking at?

It's not about "Read" speed...it's about "Writing" speed.

When you're burning "Writing" a disk there should be
a drop window that allows the user to choose the
speed.

If it's burning at 16x change it to 8x or even 4x. It's
possible that a slower burn speed can produce a
more readable disk.

The article tells you that JPEG files can cause issues.
Maybe one or more of your JPEGs is corrupted and
maybe they would work better if you convert them to
Windows Bitmap [.bmp]..

I will change my JPEG's to Bitmap and look for the scroll down menu.
Crossing my fingers!
~And thank You for the help!

I changed my pictures to Bitmap and they look horrible. I changed the writing
speed to 6x and the whole DVD sputters on the DVD Player. It still plays
great on my laptop, though it defeats the purpose.

===============================
Converting .jpgs that look good to .bmp
should not make them look horrible. Maybe
you reduced the resoluton when you converted
them. What software did you use to convert
the format?

You also mentioned video clips...what format
are they in?

Though it does not offer as many options as
a program like NeroVision...I've had some
success burning DVDs with the following
freeware....maybe it would be worth a try:

DVD Flick

Be sure to read the Guide:

I didn't change anything...
I tried DVD Flick instead of my Nero. It worked. I had to save the Movie
file as NTSC, as for some reason, I can no longer save the movie as DV-AVI.
No clue why, It gives me an error that doesn't make sense.
~ But Hay, It worked! I have my DVD! Thanks a million!!!
