DVD Wont Read DATA or +R Format

Panther The Cat

am having a big problem with my DVD Drive, It is an AOPEN
16 speed DVD Drive. I can play DVD movies in it just fine.
And i can Listen to Audio cd's and Access Data CD's.
However if i put in a DATA </nobr>Dvd it Locks up the
System, I can not have it read Data DVDs at all. It Also
dose not read the DVD + R Format... If anyone can help i
would greatly Appreciate it!
 
You may want to see if there is a firmware upgrade for your DVD

I just recently upgraded an Acer DVD ROM firmware for a friend so that it
could read +/-R discs
