I have windows xp. When I put a dvd into the drive it runs but nothing appears to happen. So I go to the start menu and bring up the intervideo winndvd and try to run it. I can hear the drive running continuously but nothing happens on the screen. After awhile it just says not responding. Does any one out there have any suggestions????????????????

Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Open XP's "Help and Support"
2. Type DVD in the search box, hit enter.
3. Click on "DVD Troubleshooter".

Have you checked what region tyoe the DVD is. UK ones are usually region 2. You should check what region XP is set to recognise. This is found in Control Panel>System>System properties>Device manager. In Device manager select the DVD drive and then properties (right mouse menu). The region selected is on the DVD Region tab. If you are using a region 2 DVD then this should also be set to region 2.

NB If you change XPs region you have a limited no of times you can change it back.
