Looking at buying DVD/Video Recorder combi. Any ideas what to go for, budget of £220 max
 
My brother bought one a few weeks ago ... cost him £745. :eek:

Actually the thing only cost £45 but he droped it on a Canadian blue glass bowl that cost £700. :rolleyes:


Oh, err, that was just a player, not recorder ... don't buy a Sony, with their DRM you won't be able to watch anything.

Was thinking of buying a Panasonic DMR-ES30V (Multi-region - DVD recorder/VCR Combi) @ £219, also have to buy it from a shop as it's my parents are buying it and they want to see it before they buy. Any views??

Nup, not me I'm afraid .. I only have a PC, or three ... NO TV

:)

A word though ... take a home recorded DVD & Tape with you, and ask to see it working. It don't arf annoy the shop assistants. :D
