dvd stopped working

Hello,
I tried taking a cd downloading it into windows library so I could then burn
this dvd r. It was a cd of my brother singing in a choir and its the only
copy. I still have it in media but despersatly need to get copy. My dvd is
not being regonsied at all. I wasnt having issues until today. The only
other time I had this problem before I need a new hd. Hope someone can lead
me to right direction .it appears drive is there staill.I hit my computer
then I hit on dvd I get a screen to install dicks even though one is in
there. Then Im not d:is rescongonised.
Any help would be grateful.

With a 2GB USB stick as cheap as $10, you could just copy the CD
content to
a USB stick.

To fix your DVD drive, maybe cleaning the lens, make sure the cable
connection
is not loose. Otherwise, buy a new DVD rom; it's really cheap
nowsaday.
