I've saved video from my Sony handycam and want to put it
on DVD. What software is best? Everything I've tried so
far is VCD quality and not like decent DVD at all.
Thanks,
Lee

Hi there,

I've used ArcSoft's ShowBiz v2 for several months and it
seems to do a pretty good job... the only disappointing
area seems to be with poorly lit clips that I adjust the
briteness and contrast on -- they look more grainy than
the unadjusted (well lit) clips. You can try it for zip:

http://www.arcsoft.com/en/support/downloads/

If you like it you can purchase it for about $100, or,
you can get a PSL (personal software license) deal for
about $200, which allows you to download 14 of their
products for a year or so (this is what I have).

For the dvd authoring and burning there are many apps you can buy, it
depends on what you want out of it.
There are things like, roxio, nero 6,
ulead do a couple dvd movie factory and dvd workshop,
TMPG dvd author
dvdlabs
sonic mydvd.
Most of the companies do free trial downloads so visit their sites and see
which is for you.
