Hi all - I just downloaded and installed service pack 2 for Windows XP
Home. When using Windows Media Player 9 or Real Player 10 to play DVDs, I
encounter a one- or two-second "skip" every so often. The DVDs are for a
class I'm taking through a distance-learning program, and when the "skip"
occurs, I lose about one or two seconds of the lecture.

This started happening right after I installed SP2, so I used System Restore
and undid the install. Sure enough, the skipping went away. I reinstalled
SP2, and the skipping returned.

Has anybody else encountered this problem? Anybody have a solution?

Thanks much,
Kevin

This is called hunting. The pickup doesn't stream thefile
properly. I use a separate pagefile for each physical drive
and this works reasonably well. Also, when playing a local
file, disable the AntiVirus as it will try scanning the
file, causing hunting & skipping.

In 2 Timothy 3:1-7, there is a list of the qualities that
Unregenerate man will have in the last days. Is your quality
found there? If So, don't despair - Christ came to save His
people.
