I have SONY DRU500A UCB DVD+_RV and I have been using it
until yesterday with no problems. Suddenly today W-XT did
not recognize the drive as recordable device. Rebooting,
unistalling-installing the driver did not help. Anyone
seen this before? What should I do?
.
I ran into something similar, I have a CD burner and a
DVD burner, the other day I tranfered some music file
from one computer to the other by recording them to disk
and then extracting them to the new computer , little did
I know what can of worms I'd be opening. Having used the
CD burner Windows switched my ability to record to the CD
burner, when I used my DVD burner it could no longer
could record. I clicked on the help feature and Windows
informed me that only one device can be set to record at
a time. You do this by clicking on My Computer and then
right clicking on the drive and selecting properties and
then click on the last tag at the top and check the
enable box.
What right does Microsoft have to tell me my drives can't
be used to their fullest unless they allow it. I think
it's time for a class action lawsuit against Microsoft,
they have know right to dictate what a person installs on
their computer. I never had used my CD burner before
this but it cost me two blank DVD disc because Microsoft
had nothing to warn me that their operating system would
disable one and enable another.
