I can play music and use my installation CD's but none of my Game CD's.
When I load a game CD it will tick tick and then show (not responding).
I have rebooted windows XP three times.
I have tried deleting the DVD RW in the Device manager list hoping that the
restart will auto detect it but to no avail. It does auto detect but no
change in the problem.
I have Explored the DVD RW and then loaded the game CD and clicked on the
location and still I get a (Not responding) message.

Are you trying to load a copied game cd rather than an original. Does it
load on other pc's? If it is a copied cd/dvd that doesn't seem readable on
anything then I'd suggest who-ever burned it needs more "education".

Things you might need to know ...

If it's a copy (CD or DVD) - most games cd's have some type of anti-copying
feature on the cd to try and prevent copying in the "normal" manner.

If it's a DVD - DVD drives don't neccessarily support every format of DVD.
For example (as regards burning and reading burned DVD's) there's both a "+"
(plus) format and a "-" (minus) format. I have 3 DVD drives in diff pc's.
The DVDR/CD-RW combo drive will read both "+" & "-" formats. The DVD burner
will write and read both formats. The older DVDR/CDR reader only reads "-"
format. As blank DVD's are sold labelled "+" or "-" it does seem important.
