DVD RW/DW has a bad block ????

Hi Everybody, I know that to those of you out there in the know, this is one
of those Dah, questions but Here go's, My system error report says my Sony
DVD RW/DW has a bad block, what does that mean. I know it's bad because if I
try to use it My system does and emergency mini-dump and shut down. I sure
don't known why it does this. Now I have no admin files or system tools,
Restore will not work. Help ASAP if you can.

There may be a fix for this, but it would be more prudent to just
replace the
drive.
