dvd roms messed up

Error message on both dvd-rw drives 1- memorex dual
format-set up as master
2nd drive - hp 200i + format.
Worked fine only one problem and that was that auto play
wasn't working on either drive but now neither drive can
read media but I still have the ability to write to
either using Record now software. I would appreciate any
help on this. I have tried everything except an fdisk and
reinstalling windows. My system is a amd athlon 3000
barton using xp-home with an a78nx motherboard and 1gig
ram (cosair 2700). 1-80gig hd and 160-gig hd.

What's the error message?

Error message is that "cannot read from this disk. The
disk might be corrupt or it could use a format the is not
compatible with Windows"
