I have a Windows 2000 system with a DVD/CD reader and a CD
Writer both on the secondary IDE channel. The reader is a
BTC BDV-108A and the writer is a Verbatim 522452AL. When I
boot up, Windows sees the writer ok, but does not see the
reader. If I then run the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard, it
does the hardware search with no messages displayed during
the search, and shows both drives in the list of devices
displayed after the search. I can then quit the wizard and
both drives are functional. This process has to be
repeated every time I switch on the system. I have tried
removing & re-installing the drive with no effect. Does
naybody have any suggestions as to how to get Windows to
see the drive at boot time. Thanks.

Hi,
Do you have the drives set on driveselect rather then
master/slave? if you do then make 1 master 1 slave and
then see what happens. Plus you could try different order
to see if it works that way.
