Recently got married and I am having problems getting back up copies of the wedding dvd to play on a dvd player, however they play perfectly well on a pc, I have used 3 different dvd burning programs inc Nero but neither one works better than the other, am I missing something? ps the picture on a dvd player keeps breaking up into large pixels, Thanks

What formats does you DVD player read?
Some standalone players will only read certain formats, what make & model is it?

whats the original video in ? DVD ? what did you use to rip it ?

The wedding DVD will be copy protected by the person or person that were contracted to do the filming. Thats is why you are having problems ripping it.

Let me guess they wanted to charge you extra for more copies but you said "no taa" thinking you can rip and burn the extra copys yourself ;)

IF this is the case then try ripping your wedding DVD using DVD Shrink

Possibly. If Harry5 tells us he signed a copyright agreement with the maker of his wedding DVD I shall remove the link.

I do suspect, however, that there is no copyright protection in place on the original DVD as it plays Ok on a PC. I think it's likely the reason it won't play on his stand alone DVD player is due to one of several reasons:

a) It's an older generation DVD PLayer
b) It's a cheapie 30 quid nasty jobbie
c) The DVD media he's using isn't compatible or is low quality

We need more information from Harry5 on this one.

Ha ha, thanks Ive sorted it, Its my crappy dvd player, they play alright on other dvd players, just not mine, off to buy a new player 2morrow,

Tesco's seem to do some good multi-region, multi format.
Also richer sounds do good bargains:thumb:

I had a "cheap 25 quid nastie jobbie" and it too would play anything ... gave it to my sister when her "top of the range" would not play her daughters compilation DVDs ... her daughter is quite a photographer with some spiffing kit. Don't think she would put Quad to shame, but it ain't arf expensive. :D
