Hi,
I use my laptop on business, and although I reside in the
US I am often in the UK for months at a time. I watch
DVDs from both countries. I hadn't paid much attention to
it, but it seems that there is a limited number of times
the Region setting could be changed, as I can't change
back to UK settings now that I'm here and DVDs won't play
any more.
Surely there must be a fix for this - does anyone know
how? MS knowledge base # Q192103 ominously indicated that
it's permanently set now unless "reset by the
manufacturer". This seems ludicrous! The DVD's are
legitimate - why the hell should MS care about where I am
when I play it? I can't believe there isn't a solution to
this. There must be other folks who travel as I do on
business and have encountered the same thing...
