can anyone tell me why,
my dvd-rw,will not accept my discs,
it always says incert blank disc.
i have no problems playing them.
my pc is a emachine 620 alaska model..
thankyou......
zepphead..

What DVD burning software are you using? XP cannot burn to DVD without third
party software. If you have third party DVD burning software installed try
changing the brand of DVD media or try reinstalling the burning software or
try checking for an update for the software. If that fails then try cleaning
the drive. In my experience when a DVD R/W or for that matter a CD-R/W no
longer acknowledge blank media it is either poor media or a failed laser.

Are you sure you have a DVD burner?
What model burner is it?
Is it a +R, -R, +RW, -RW, DL or some combination of those?
Are you using the proper DVD type for what your DVD burner can write to?

You answered your own question..

You do NOT have a DVD burner.
You have a CD Burner.

Lite-On LTR-48327S 48X24X48X E-IDE/ATAPI CD-RW Drive (LTR48327S / LTR-48327
/ LTR48327)

# Write, Read, and Rewrite Your Own CDs
# Data Transfer Rate
# 24x Rewritable/CD-RW
# 48x Record/CD-R
# 48x Max Read/CD-ROM

No where in there does it tell you that you can burn DVDs, because it is not
a DVD Burner.

You need a DVD Burner to burn DVDs.
A CD Burner - like you have - will only burn CDs.

So - you either have to make your burning projects smaller or buy a DVD
capable drive and keep your projects below their limits.
