I recently upgraded to XP home edition. I burn my home videos onto DVD's.
However, since I upgraded to XP I am no longer able to. I am using MyDVD to
burn the DVD's and it states that the drive is busy and then states there is
an unknown deive error. I went into computer management and pulled the
following error reports.

1. The driver detected a controller error on \Device\CdRom1.

2. An error was detected on device \Device\CdRom1 during a paging operation.

I did contact memorex and they were no help at all. I have tried the
following.

1. reinstalled drivers
2. reinstall the DVD R+RW
3. Replaced the pin cable

Any suggestions?

It sounds like your DVD software is not compatibly with XP. Check for an
upgrade, or get new software that will work with XP.

.
Is the CD-Rom writer Memorex, or just the media?
I know that HP Cd-Rom Writer, requires a different
software programme and drivers with XP as compared with
Win 98
Might be worth visiting the manufacturers website to see
if they have updated drivers and software for XP
