hello can someone help me with dvd+r

I just burn some back up files from my pc.But the thing is they only work on my dvd buner and nothing else.

I have normal pc dvd player and it does'nt read the files at all.

Try to back up some movies i have to player on a normal tv dvd player. Just said no disc.

My dvd buner can be plug in and out since being usb 2 .But i do not want to carry it around to freinds to back up files.

I can't find many shops what do dvd r.

I bought 5 blank dvd+r for 1 pound thinking they would work on a normal player.

Is there way around this?.
 
Let me know the model no and brand of your home dvd player and I will look it up for you:)
