I have just made a movie, saved as DV-AVI file on a DVD-R and played it on
three differed DVD players - the first one played great - the second one
played it a bit "choppy" and it wouldn't even play in the third one...whats
up with that???

Does the actual DVD-R disc matter - should I buy a more expensive brand?

You say you "saved as DV-AVI"?
DVD is a form of mpeg2, what did you instruct your
software to burn as? DVD-Video?
Was the actual avi in DviX compression?
Did you burn a DviX data disk?
I'm not gifted with telepathy, you need to try and tell us some more
info for anyone to be able to guide you on compatibility issues....
