DVD player

I have a DVD drive ion my system that worked fine under
ME. Now even thoughit runs CDs ok, DVD do not work, I am
told there is no DVD decoder on the system that works
under win 2K, even though the windows DVD player is
installed. Windows recognises the player as a DVD player.
DO I need something such as power DVD or win DVD to get
this to work, or it is a driver problem

There is a DVD player hidden in Win2K, but there is no mpeg-2 codec to decode
DVDs.

So you do need power/win DVD. I am not aware of any legit mpeg-2 codecs.
