DVD player knackered

my DVD player isnt recognising DVD disks. Troubleshooter cant fix it and neither will rebooting the drive. 'Please insert disk' comes up but maintenance says 'device working properly' but i promise thats a lie!

my guess is that either your lens is dirty/dusty or your laser is faulty, in
either case you may just find (depending on the condition of the optics)
that it will play a zone 1 disc but not zone 4...if cleaning the optics
(correctly) doesn't fix the problem, treat yourself to a new drive....
