DVD Not working after XP Install

Installed XP Professional. DVD will start to load up then microsoft error
screen appears. "Win DVD MFC application has encountered a problem and needs
to close, sorry for inconveinance." Error Signature: App Name:Windvd.exe App
Ver: 5.0.11.704 Modname:ivivideo.ax Mod Ver: 5.0.11.704 offset:000aecb0"

I did an upgrade and installed Intervideo, Inc. MP3/DVD X pack. It still is
not working. I also had received a "Format not supported error 80040265"
error message. Any advice .
