Hi,

I'm running vista home premium, I get access is denied on dvd player and all
usb devices, red circles around the icons in explorer and unable to change
ownership despite having admin access. however, in safe mode everything works
fine...
I've admin rights....

HELP!!!!

Thanks!

Wilson,

In Device Manager, with your devices connected, try uninstalling (under
Properties) each of them and rebooting. The idea is to have Windows redetect
and reinstall them and to fix the problem by doing that. Sometimes this
works, but you won't know until you try it.

Also, consider the following:

Here is a new USB fix that just came out:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;936003

I don't know whether this fix is applicable to your situation, but again you
never
know until you try it.

Hi Wilson,

Good going. Note that KB925528 is included in the rollup, which would have
achieved the same thing, and more.

Hi Freddi & Wilson !

I got the same problem in vista Business but KB925528 cannot solve it.
error message like ' 0049DA05 awtray.exe need of address 0002' popped up.
It happened after uninstalling Adobe photoshop album starter software that
automatically detect and display photo on computer.
Do you have any suggestions?

regards,

Thet

Hey

I'm experiencing the exact same problem. I tried the fix mentioned, but I
just get an error message saying "This update does not apply to your system".
So I'm very clueless at the moment!

I FIXED IT!

Do you have an Acer system by any chance? If so, the eLock application might
have made your life unhappy! It certainly did to my laptop! I hadn't used
it, but it had still locked all my removable drives/usb.

Go to this address and download the eLock program if you don't already have
it.
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/

Then run it, set a password, lock all your drives, and unlock them. That
solved my problem!
