DVD MOVIE EDITING

I have a class project that I need to take clips from a DVD movie and put
them on a seperate disc , I not at all familiar with movie maker and was
wondering if anyone has done this before? Does the movie need to be converted
to a certain file type first?

The other option is to use software which will edit mpegs direct from dvd
disc, so depending on what you have or how much of a budget you have got,
you could look at using Ulead videostudio9 or pinnacle studio10.
