I own a laptop that includes a DVD Matshita SR-8171-H. It
works perfect with SP1 y SP2, but when I update the
Windows 2000 to SP3 it fails reading CDRW with an
error: "Invalid MS-DOS function".
I expected that it would be corrected updating to SP4, but
I get the same error.
What seems to be clear is that it should be a problem of
the device driver provided with the W2K updating to SP3
(SP4), because if I uninstall SP3 (or SP4) and come back
to SP2, it works again perfect. And there aren't
independent drivers for this device (as far as I know),
the only drivers to use are the ones coming with the W2K
system.
Aditional test I did, upgraded BIOS to the most recent
level, uninstalled the "UDF" driver Windows 200 includes
and installed the latest UDF version from Roxio... Same
bad result in SP3 and SP4
Any idea of help ?
Thanks ! Javier
