DVD is not working any more

Hi
My DVD does not respond any more. I have winXP prof and Media Player. DVD
does not start and the system does not bring up the selection of different
choises of playing SWs.
This all happened when I tried to connec a flat screen as a wieving channel.
I guess I have pressed a wrong button.

Can you access and play the contents of the DVD by going through My Computer
and double clicking the DVD drive?
