hello!

i know this has come up several times in this group, and i assure you
that i've read through most of the answers...but i'm still stuck.

i want to play a dvd in powerpoint - a specific title, chapter, and
even have start/stop times specified.

i've looked at onstage dvd, but it's a little pricey for a student
like me :(
and www.spinware.net is...ermm...gone.

i think some time ago mr. isaac chapman put up some instructions on
using vb; unfortunately, i know almost nothing about vb, so despite
several vain attempts to follow instructions, no luck!

windows media player seems to work, only the whole dvd becomes one
single track. but i wouldn't mind that as long as i could get it to
start and stop at specific times. would there be a simple way to do
this?

any other suggestions would be very much appreciated!

thank you all very much *^-^*

You probably need to shop google for DVD authoring software. Once you have
captured your presentation to video format, authoring software is used to add
the menus and interactive features that you see on commercial DVDs. There are a
wide range of products and just as wide a range of prices. You may also want to
hang out in some forums that specialize in video techniques.

You might want to rip the content off the DVD to a movie file, assuming it
is legal. Thereafter, you can insert a movie inside PowerPoint.

Here's more info about using copyrighted content in PowerPoint:

You might also want to write to the folks at OnStage and request them for an
academic rate?

Sorry. My first cup of coffee didn't open my eyes, so I didn't read your post
carefully. Ignore my drivel.
