dvd help; please

I have a Ravisent dvd player in my HP Pavilion 9680C computer.Im running
windows 98 se .when I play a dvd the picture is too dark to really view .I
have brightness on computer Moniter all the way up,and also have brightness
all the way up in Ravisents software program.But it is still too dark to
view properally.I know my monitor and picture tube is good.I have a game
called heretic Two and in the game i can turn gamma and brightness up to a
comfortable viewing level.I said all this to ask,Is there a way threw
programming ect to fix my problem.Thanks In Advance.

You might be able to adjust the brightness through your video card, try
this; right click on desktop, choose active desktop, customize my desktop
and settings. On the settings tab click advanced and then look through the
options for a way to adjust the brigfhtness. Good Luck.
 
Gamma Panel is a very nice program .It lightened up my desktop but not the
ravisent
screen on my computer desktop, :-(
 
I also found the controls that you explained to find and adjusted them but
they
only brighten my desktop but not the ravisent player that comes up on my
desktop when I put a dvd in my computers dvd player. :-( Thank you for you
help.
