DVD has only VOB, BUP, IFO & DAT files -- won't edit right

I'm trying to import video from a DVD and then edit it. When I Explore this
DVD, I see it contains two folders, one containing small .BUP, .DAT and .IFO
files; the other containing some small BUPs and IFOs ... and some big .VOBs.
When I try to import any of those .VOBs into MovieMaker, I encounter various
problems. How do I import from this DVD in a way that's editable, let's me
save projects, etc? Thanks!

MM does not work with mpeg files. The vob is an mpeg wrapped up in a dvd
playable format.

You need to convert the vob to a wmv and import this into movie maker.
