I have a Sony Vaio (FRV-27) laptop. For the past few days o have not been
able to play my DVDs. The player screen goes black and i can only hear the
sound. I tried various options - changed the Display setting. Set the Color
to 16-bit as mentioned in the HELP. But still i am not able to get any image
on the screen.
I have also been updating my WINDOWS XP regularly.
I have a RADEON IGP 345M display.
This problem has just surfaced recently.

Please advise.

Are you using Powerdvd OR WinDVD?....same problem here in
Windows Xp Home...I can only play my DVD's in file mode
not in disk mode....
When I boot my PC in Windows XP Pro, it works just fine
with the same software.
Haven't been able to solve this one yet...
