dvd drives messed up

Error message on both dvd-rw drives 1- memorex dualerror message is:"cannot read from this disk. The
disk might be corrupt or it could use a format the is not
compatible with Windows"
 
If you leave a good data disc in (all) dvd/cd drives and
reboot, can you read from them at that point?
