Hello,

I have Windows XP sp2.
I have a problem here. My DVD reader used to work fine, I could read DVD and
insert blank DVD-R and it would recognise them as DVD-R.
But now, it recognise them as CD-ROM. I have not done anything to change the
settings. Yet it still recognise film DVDs as DVDs.

Is this a known problem? If yes, is there a way to revert back to normal?

Thanks in advance, Francois

Try cleaning the Drive. With the tray open use a can of air and gently
clean the inside. You can also try a Dvd lense cleaner
